Get in the Mood

Posted by On Repeat Sports on Mar 24th 2023

Q & A with Athlete and On Repeat Sports Brand Ambassador: Cameron Fuhrman

ORS: When and why did you start lifting? When do you feel like you became a serious lifter?

Cameron: I feel like I started lifting and pushing myself after I got really low in life. I had friends pass away from overdoses and my family was pulling apart, so I wanted to be better. I started grinding ever since, and I have thanked God for every day I am blessed to have.

ORS: What time of day do you train and why?

Cameron: I usually like to train in the mornings, because there’s not usually as many people.

ORS: What do you listen to on repeat at the gym to get you into beast mode?

Cameron: I usually listen to some hard style music, because it gets me in the powerlifting type of mood.

ORS: Do you have a favorite exercise?

Cameron: I love hitting chest and bis; that’s my favorite day, and I love it because it gives me that full pump.

ORS: What is your main fitness goal for the coming year?

Cameron: My main fitness goal is to cut down a little bit more than I am and get to 9% body fat.

ORS: Do you write down your goals?

Cameron: Yes, I have a whiteboard in my room, and I check off if I met my goal or not. If I didn’t, then I try to push harder the next day.

ORS: What has led to the biggest improvements in your training or physique?

Cameron: I believe that dedication, hard work, and discipline got me where I am today and allowed me to be the best version of myself. I also stopped eating fast food, chocolate, and drinking soda.

ORS: Who inspires you in the gym? Do you have a hero?

Cameron: My mom inspires me a lot, because she gets out of her bed every single morning, no matter what, just to go to work for us, get us food and keep a roof over our head. I want to return the favor and win as much as I can and keep my head in school. She is my hero.

ORS: What is most overlooked when it comes to getting the results you want in the gym?

Cameron: I feel like the most overlooked thing is diet. If you don’t have a good meal plan, nothing will work as much as it should.

ORS: What advice would you give someone new to the gym?

Cameron: Take your time and don’t rush things. You might want to give up and throw everything away and go back to the old you. It’s not worth it to give up, because if you do, then you’re giving up on yourself. That’s the worst thing you can do.
