Q & A with Fitness Coach and On Repeat Sports Brand Ambassador: Kearon Cole
ORS: When and why did you start lifting? When do you feel like you became a serious lifter?
Kearon: I started lifting in the summer of 2019; I was going to MLB tryouts (for minors). I feel like I started to become serious with lifting the following year.
ORS: What time of day do you train and why?
Kearon: Early morning at 4:30AM or 4PM, depending on my work schedule.
ORS: What do you listen to on repeat at the gym to get you into beast mode?
Kearon: Rise and Shine by J. Cole
ORS: Do you have a favorite exercise?
Kearon: Bosu ball pistol squats.
ORS: What is your main fitness goal for the coming year?
Kearon: Gain more muscle mass.
ORS: Do you write down your goals?
Kearon: No, not really.
ORS: What has led to the biggest improvements in your training or physique?
Kearon: Working out the muscle imbalances and doing a lot of single arm or single leg exercises.
ORS: Who inspires you in the gym? Do you have a hero?
Kearon: Everyone that’s looking to change their situation, regardless if it’s mental or physical change. I wouldn’t say they’re my hero, more so I really like their approach on life and the advice they give, and that’ll be Eric Thomas and Inky Johnson.
ORS: What is most overlooked when it comes to getting the results you want in the gym?
Kearon: Stability exercises and hip mobility exercises.
ORS: What advice would you give someone new to the gym?
Kearon: Be patient and consistent, and the work you put in will be shown in the results you’ll eventually see!
